19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts

A comeback the Russian player claimed his initial championship for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a challenging period, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the top ten and eventually separating with former trainer Cervara.

Now training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

It is the player's first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.

The win also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one various events.

"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children at once, so to get a title is particularly special," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

The player's defensive approach and frequent reactions on court had prompted commentators to wonder if his ability to play at the highest level was over.

But the player has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and play positively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

The champion came back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the final five points to gain the advantage.

The competitors traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first tour title, gained dominance to create a decider.

The opponent rescued four early-game break points in a close final set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned the title with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
